We’ve loved working with Dr. Blackham in the time he’s been at Methodist. He takes his time in the room each time we’re there and I never feel like our appointments are rushed. He checks in to make sure any medical issues we’re concerned about are resolved as time goes on & our kids love going to visit the doctor! He makes each appointment personable and not just another patient, that you get with some doctors. I’d recommend him to anyone looking to switch!
I had an uncomfortable experience with Dr. Blackham. I understand that doctors run late, but he was over 40 minutes behind. When he finally came in, he told me he didn’t have time to review my son’s chart and asked me to explain why I was there. During the appointment, he made several comments about my son’s ‘father,’ like “If it’s dad’s weekend, he can bring him in,” and other remarks that made me feel like I was being judged and even being shamed for being a single mom.
