When I 1st met Dr Pirris I was in a wheelchair unable to walk; the day before a schwannoma tumor showed in the mri and it was bending my spinal cord. I had emergency surgery the next day on a Saturday morning...I've had 2 more spinal surgeries (other areas in my back) since then and Dr Pirris is great; he has personally called to answer any question or concerns that I had. He is awesome. A very caring Neurosurgeon.
Dr Pirris is an excellent surgeon, explains everything, and is very encouraging both pre and post op. Very knowledgeable. His staff is also excellent. He will soon be at Mayo.
Dr. Pirris has done several surgeries on my neck and back with EXCELLENT results! I am so confident in his abilities, he performed surgery on my daughter with EXCELLENT results as well. What a wonderful team he had at St. Vincent’s Spine and Brain. He will be sorely missed at St. Vincent’s. Now to figure out how to transfer my neurosurgery care to Mayo.
My first choice among all JAX-area neurosurgery practitioners. Dr Pirris has fused both my cervical & lumbar spines. Excellent results. EXCELLENT patient relations both medically & administratively. The proof of my confidence is that I hope he will accept my wife as a new patient.

Dr Pirris is a Excellent doctor with Great Concerns for his patients.I will continue to see him as needed.
The difference with other Neurosurgeons is great listening ?? communication skills. Patience and truly reading doctor notes irregardless of why I was hospitalized gives him his perspective on what tests and diagnostics needed for followup visits and or, referrals needed for future visits.

From the lady at the front desk where I checked in to the gentleman who took my blood pressure my experience was effortless. And after meeting the doctor, I never met a Doctor Who was so knowledgeable with so little knowledge of my past medical history that knew so much about my condition. My confidence level was over the top after speaking with him. Dr ????? Pirris is an amazing surgeon! He performed two surgeries on me within three months (cervical and spine). After reading reviews and research on neurosurgeons, I know I made the right decision and selected the BEST. He built my trust with him through taking time to detail out the procedure and how he understood my many reluctances.
