Very detailed physical exam & Dr Pirris listened to my problems with my back & concerns with areas causing pain. He ordered a couple additional tests & recommended an injection for my MD at the Spine & Pain clinic to give me. It did give me some relief.
Nothing but excellence in his care
He wasn't interested in how I felt. Only interested in the test results and in hearing himself talk. No interest in the patient. Anytime I tried to say what was going on with me, he fluffed it off. He ordered several more tests which I will do to take to a non Mayo practitioner since they don't let you switch doctors in the department. I've found a few neurosurgeons who are highly recommended by Drs whom I highly trust in the community.
My saving grace. Thank you. A very intelligent, he was very organized to every detail. Arrive, 2 days of screening and planning and next morning off to surgery. Did not waste 1 minute, what he said was exactly as we planned. Spot on. BOTH times! Kutos to Dr. Pirris!!! Thank you again!
Appointment was rushed. Rough and hurried exam as well. He was not empathetic. Seems to know what he's talking about but disputed MY symptoms. Not sure on what basis he knows what my body feels, but ok.
Amazing! Brilliant, compassionate, thorough, explained the situation and possible problems & outcomes clearly & honestly. Told us after the surgery that he was pleased that he had been able to do all he had hoped to do ... It's always a good sign when the surgeon is happy !!
Website and LinkedIn both say Dr Pirris is at Mayo and accepting patients. However, Mayo says he is not there and call back in January. I have been getting the runaround since August. If I didn’t have such a long history with Dr. Pirris I would look elsewhere to be seen.
He was supposed to be ay Mayo in the “fall”. Fall is past and we cannot locate him, Mayo has no info. He is a great dr but it seems like he disappeared. Our GP suggested we check his state license and it has Mayo listed as his affiliated clinic so hopefully he shows up there.
