Dr. Stephen Bakir is a wonderful cardiologist, plus very kind and attentive. I’ve seen him for a heart issue for over 20 yrs, the same for mother who has varied and very serious heart issues. He was able to diagnose her afib, when her previous physician could not. Through his expert care and attention, she is still with us at 91. He also took excellent care of my mother-in-law. She was very fond of him, as we all are.
My mother went into septic shock and died from an untreated UTI under his care at Brookwood Hosptial following a TAVR procedure. I expressed multiple times to Dr Bakir and his two nurses that I thought my mother had a UTI. She has a history of them and we believe a UTI is causing confusion (CTscan ruled out stroke). My mother also had really low blood pressure (dialtoloc was in the 30’s and 40’s, her’s is usually really high). She also wasn’t producing urine which he used an excuse to not test her for a UTI. Dr. Bakir is so patient oriented. Very empathetic and listens. You will be very lucky to be one of his patients. I have complete faith in him and trust his expertise.
I met Dr. Bakir in February 2015 at Trinity Medical Emergency Room when he was called in to do an emergency surgery on me. Dr. Bakir is the most kind, gentle, caring doctor I could have. He has really taken good care of my health and if I can have him as my primary care doctor I would.
Dr. Bakir is great I highly recommend him I have been a patient of his for 4 years.
Recommend because he take the required time evaluated test results to determine the proper course of action. He will answer all questions in such a way that can be understood.
