Amazing food, worth the drive to Salem New York...order the homemade bread, it comes still warm from the oven...The Chocolate, perfection
One of my very favorite places for lunch and happy treats. My favorite is the chicken salad sandwich served on a croissant with their cranberry chutney. I also love the soups, always a variety and every choice is a winner. The chocolates are also exceptional. Xavier Steininger makes his chocolates in the old European fashion using the best ingredients and in small batches insuring freshness in every bite.
It is the best place for home made soups, desserts are the best, great place for lunch, the chocolate are wonderful.
Love Steininger's. They have the most delicious sandwiches and home made soups. Their desserts are out of this world. We drive 40 minutes to have lunch there, enjoy our exceptionally delicious food and conversation, drive 40 minutes home.
Just had lunch here today-the wurst sampler. Phenomonal. Well worth a 55 mile drive (although i was already upstreet). Finished it off by buying some chocolates to bring home!
They have the best chocolate in the area! You can't go wrong having lunch here either. They are closed in January so get over there and pick up some Holiday chocolates for your loved one.
