They have the best sandwiches and soups. Don't leave without desserts. We love the rasberry and fudge sundaes. Worth our 3 hour drive.
Steininger's has a great menu, and an even greater dessert menu! Fresh greens, meats, croissants, etc. Yummy fudge sauce over crème-filled puff pastry....mmm...definitely worth going!!! And then there's those hand made chocolates....
Great food! You HAVE to have dessert. I like the happy monk on a puff pastry.
Soups and sandwiches were wonderful - and desserts fantastic. I ordered a special combo package of jams, chocolate sauce and chocolates for my father-in-law for Christmas. Xavier was very helpful in the process - and my father in law was thrilled! Highly recommend this little restaurant in the quaint town of Salem NY.
A favorite spot in Salem. Constance (mother) and Xavier (son), work hard to give North Country residents a warm and cozy spot to come to for delicious fare. The bread, soups and pastry are all made in-house. The chocolates and confection too. A rare find that we are grateful to have.
