Will never return.... – Went in early 2009 for a regular mole, skin check. One of the 4 biopsies came back as needing more margin. Dr. got on phone. Did not provide any details of what type of concern it was other than abnormal. I inquired that a larger margin was needed. Note that the mole was not cancerous nor was it precancerous. There was a failure to effectively communicate in this situation, and we apologize. The physician, not the assistant, calls all patients with all biopsy results, mainly because patients have a right to talk with their doctor directly about their care, and also to avoid miscommunication. "Dysplastic" means "abnormal", but does not necessarily mean cancerous or precancerous. However, some dysplastic moles do require complete removal, or excision, after the biopsy, depending on the level of abnormality noted by the pathologist ... read more
Wonderful Doctor – I've had some pretty odd skin problems and Dr. Lain has spent at least the last two years working on finding a diagnosis and treatment. He has worked very hard on my case. The first dermatologist to stick with it long anough and really made me feel like he cared
Huge disappointment – I've had sun spots successfully removed in one treatment before by another doctor who is now retired. I recently went to Dr Lain and after one treatment there was no difference. I'm not sure if he took it personally when I returned but the second treatment actually made the spots FAR worse than they originally were. I would never recommend this place to a friend.
Great Doctor – Dr. Lain is very knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manner. I took my teenage daughter to him because she was experiencing severe acne on her chest and back. She didn't want to go because she was very self-conscious and embarrassed but Dr. Lain was so nice she left his office with a smile. The prescriptions we got started working right away. Quite simply the best – I have been a patient of Dr Lain's almost since he opened the Steiner Ranch office. I have used Dr Lain for my annual skin cancer checks, removal of moles that were troublesome, botox, and fillers. I have to say I get many comments on how young I look for my age. Great Dermatologist, Amazing Botox Treatments – Dr. Lain really cares about his patients, I went to him for Botox and he took the less is more approach with me. I really appreciate his honesty and it saved me some money. I have had Botox from someone else who was up selling me on more Botox than I really needed. Dr. Lain's injections were perfect, no bruising and no redness! and my wrinkle lines are gone, for now... I will definitely be back. Thanks Dr. Lain!

Awesome doctor!! – We moved here from California and my daughter was having a skin pigmentation problem. I had taked her to several doctors in California and no-one could diagenois her finally we brought her to Dr. Ted Lain and he was able not only to diagnosis her but treat her and get her skin back to normal. He knows his stuff and I wouldnt go anywhere else but him!! Thank you Dr. Lain you rock!!
So-so acne care – I have mixed feelings about the service given me by Dr. Lain. As an adult, I have experienced more acne than when I was a teenager, but it still isn't awful. In fact, it is minor, but I just had some blemishes and blackheads I wanted to be rid of. My first visit with Dr. Lain was great. He and his office staff are wonderful. Which we obviously didn't do in your case. We hope that you'll give our office another chance to help you. There are many ways to treat acne, and different types of acne require individualized treatment plans. We try to work with patients to develop a plan that will a) improve their acne and b) fit in with their lifestyle and habits. It sounds like we developed a plan that worked to a certain point, but needed tweeking to completely meet your skin's needs.
HOLY COW! I'd like to properly thank Dr. Lain and his amazing staff for what they have done for me, but I don't know quite how I'd do it. I just had the Lux 1540 resurfacing treatment and I'm pretty sure my skin hasn't looked this good since I was 10. THE perfect rejuvenation for this over-50 face, but I highly recommend it for anybody. Great clinic, great staff, amazing doctor. Go.
