Would not recommend State Farm Insurance to anyone. I would rate them a -0-. We had a fire insurance claim. State Farm never reconstructed our home as the policy stated. State Farm just basically stated they were not responsible and washed their hands of the claim. They were very happy to accept our annual premiums but not helpful when we requested their help. If I could give 0 stars I would. My mother and I had were in our house parked in the yard when a young boy crashed into all the cars in our front yard. My daughter was in a wreck. Her car was totaled. She was not hurt, thank goodness.They did a market evaluation to pay us out. One of the cars they compared to was hail damaged. The other they used a purchase price that was only good if you jumped through the dealership hoops and financed through them. But, they took off value of my car for some minor dings, but a car with major hail damage is ok. It was $1500-$2000 below nada value. They told me that is not how the value of a car is determined. State Farm is worse than my current insurance company. I was hit by an uninsured person with no drivers license who happened to be driving a car insured by State Farm. He ran a red light and hit my car. The police officers who arrived to the scene cited him as being at fault, as did my insurance company. I purchased insurance online and had a terrible time dealing with them. I got the run around, bait and switch, etc., I have requested a refund several times, in writing and not received it and it has been over a month. I contacted State Farm Insurance Customer Service and could not get it settled but they recommended I talk to the agent. I have an auto loan with State Farm, and would never recommend this company to anyone. I will be telling everyone I know that State Farm is the worst company. Their employees are extremely rude, will talk over you and raise their voice at you. They avoid my calls for days at a time (telling me they will call me before the day ends but they never do). State farm is horrible to work with whenever you have a claim, but they will gladly take your money and "review services" once a year to make more money from you. In 11 years owning my home and having homeowner's insurance through them, I have filed two claims.The first was after a well documented hailstorm went through my area in 2014 and damaged my roof. My parked car was hit by one of their insured, the person accepted fault at the time but State Farm sent me a letter saying they didn't accept fault because I couldn't prove it. I'm working on getting video, then I'm going to sue the driver.
