Not a bad eatery Yesterday we went to this restaurant. This particular day, a friend, her kid and I ordered Pani Puri , Bhel Puri and a Special Lassi. I had to round off the bill to $50, as I was trying out my new debit card. After my first plate of Pani Puri I craved for another. It was really good, they had packed the punch, though I must admit I was pretty skeptical at first. Bhel Puri was good too. But then, one can't really mess this one up! The special Lassi was full of nuts and wotnot. Heavy, but good.

Everything about the Star is authentic Indian. The excellent service, the fantastic food and the welcome you get when you are a repeat customer. Been eating here for 20+ years (since the old Rochester Rd days) and I know Indian food. I am an English transplant and this resteraunt would grace any English City. The Chicken Tilka Massalla is to die for and the shrimp Bhunna is great. Give it a whirl, you will love it

If you're a Brit and you haven't eaten here you are missing out. Chicken Tikka Massala is off the hook, tandoori chick is great, Bombay potatoes that will blow your sox off and the peshwari naan bread is to die for. I've been eating here for 20 years, started when they were on Rochester Rd and I won't go anywhere else.

I like to get take out. The food is good, I look forward to it and am never disappointed. I don't feel that it it the BEST indian food in the area, nevertheless I keep coming back. I always get the same thing, chicken tikka masala, chole, pakora.

AWFUL – After ordering/eating six different dishes, three breads and Samosas, from Star of India I think i can sum up the restaurant in three words: DO NOT GO, This was the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. I ordered Six different dishes, three breads and Samosas. The dishes were awful, greasy, and tasteless; the breads were flat, tasteless and dry; the Samosas were the WORST. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I would not walk through the doors of their restaurant again. The bummer was, I had eleven people for a birthd... read more

Just not good enough – Star of India is just not that good. Every time I go in, I get the sense that nobody really cares - about anything. The servers are indifferent, the decor is bland, the prices are cheap - but alas, you get what you pay for. The food all tastes the same - literally, the palak paneer tastes more or less the same as the malai kofta, etc. Indian food should be complex and offer little surprises in your mouth. This food just doesn't - never has, probably never will. A disappointment.
