I was a patient for 12 years and over those years Dr. Stein helped me with the chronic condition that I have. I never enjoyed going to his office , because I never knew if he was going to be the nice or very rude doctor. He put me on an iv biologic medicine in 2012 and I began to have a painful side effect. When I tried to talk to him about the side effects I was having, he picked up his phone,told his secretary to get my records, stood up, and told me that he could not do anything else for me.
Dr Stein did an excellent job assessing my current kidney issue, immediately calling a urologist to thoroughly investigate the matter and then answering all my questions. He is no-nonsense, which is what you want in a doctor. He made sure I fully understood everything about the past procedures and results. His prior assessment of my colonoscopy was equally complete. He listens and answers all questions. I would highly recommend him.
After over 5 years as a patient, I recently had a consultation that was terrifying. When I "dared" to research my condition on my own and had questions about his treatment plan (only to be a more informed patient), he responded with disdain, impatience, and an attitude that can only be described as bullying. I was shocked and humiliated. He told me he did not have the time or interest in explaining his decisions to me and"fired" me as a patient. Didn't need to -- I won't be going back, ever!
Dr. Stein is very thorough and is a great doctor in my opinion. He goes the extra mile in caring for his patients.

Dr. Stein was very thorough. He helped me find a surgeon that was on my insurance. He understands how scary it is when tumors are found and was very compassionate. He is a vey good doctor that I highly recommend.
Dr. Stein was very thorough. He was very knowledgeable. I feel that I have found an excellent doctor that will take very good care of me.
Dr. Stein saw me for abdominal issues and said i have an infection prescribed me meds to treat that when i got sicker and landed up in ER, they landed up taking my gallbladder out on his referral. After I was still sick for 6 months after the gallbladder removal i got a certified letter in the mail saying he was dropping me as a patient. When i called to inquire he said that he was being brought up to the board for misconduct on my case. Turns out there was no such case and he lied.
Dr. Stein is a caring doctor with a great sense of humour. I also find him to be a very good listener. I'm fortunate to have him as my Gastro Doc.
