When this first opened, it was great. But I recently went in, and the guys behind the counter couldn’t have been more rude and dismissive. I left and bought nothing. nd I will never ever go back, that’s how rude. Right after that, I met a lady who runs a regenerative farm. And she said the original owner died a while back, questioning if it’s still good anymore. I’m sticking to McCalls.

This place is such a neighborhood treasure. I went from eating very little meat to becoming a conscientious carnivore because of Standing's. That's because I know everything I get there will be fresh and humanely produced. The variety, quality, cleanliness, and customer service really makes this butcher shop special. I wish everyone could have a butcher shop like this. AND they make the best burgers in LA!
What am incredibly special place! The owner is a lovely guy who was gentle and thoughtful about his advice and choices for me. We also had fantastic banter which really matters to me! I will go back often for the foreseeable future after such a lovely experience. I have missed old school butchers like this, reminds me of the proper English butchers, while having a young cool edge. Stop shopping at the supermarket for your meat and feet your bottom down to STANDINGS. Incredibly moving experience
