In March 2020, we terminated my son’s lease under a liquidated damages clause (Section 14(2)) which allowed early termination for a fee. We paid the termination fee, all rent and expenses due through the termination date and even surrendered the apartment 3 weeks early. Management refused to recognize our right to terminate the lease early and sent the account to a collection agency before the appeal period ended for the final move out statement they sent to us.
