Went with a friend to visit her fiancé in the ICU trauma area. When we got there, the nurse was on lunch and we were assured he would be back to speak with us and answer any questions. After waiting, we were informed he had to take another patient to a procedure and would be back in an hour. Needless to say, 3 or 4 hours there and his nurse never spoke with us nor did we see him again. I wasn't impressed. Given the extent of his injuries, the nurses should have been somewhat knowledgeable. It's not hard to review a chart..
After heart serger pry I was left alone all day ,not a n aide in helping me get clean or bathe until my friend came and helped me into the bathroom.
I have been a patient there and so have several of my family members the most recent being my husband. He was there having open heart surgery. We have had nothing but the best of care from the nurses to the doctors. Even the registering people were great! My husband is now going through heart rehab there, and the trainers are amazing and personable. When asked if we have a preference on hospitals we always say St. Vincent's.
