The original church was built on the farm of Governor Peter Stuyvesant in 1660 and later destroyed. This replacement was erected in 1799 and is one of the oldest churches in the city. From a Californian, it’s like a 6.9/10. Free salsa but the food just wasn’t like home.
More of a sports bar than a restaurant. Tacos are good, but their guacamole lacks flavor. Their waitress Jennifer clearly hates her job. We had to chase her down to order more and for our check.
Authentic cheap Mexican food + great drinks.
Fantastic LA-style Mexican food, among the best in the city. Try the verde chicken enchiladas and check out all the Lakers/Dodgers memorabilia on the walls!
I come here almost exclusively for the lengua (beef tongue) tacos. Where most other preparations are gelatinous and chewy, this is mix of crispy and soft like good pulled meat.
Beer tongue taco was incredible, amazing service, authentic food and feel
vague Los Angeles theme. tacos are particularly good, barbacoa, the oily picadillo (livened up with a finger chile), or deep-fried pescado.
Cheap and good, but not great food. Cactus tacos are a good choice for vegetarians. Skip the torta.
The tacos are particularly good, each on a single soft corn tortilla
