Wife is having surgery today and not at all pleased. Can someone please explain why they took her to the holding area for an hour before the surgery actually started. I get anxiety with any surgery and being away for that long without knowing what's going on doesn't help the anxiety at all. I know this sounds minor but to me there's no reason why I couldn't stay with her until they were ready to take her to the operating room for her procedure.
Their er doctors are sub contractors that are not in network on most insurances. They do not tell you this until you are discharged and it's a small piece of paper at the very back of your paperwork. The doctor spent less than 1 minute in my room the rest of the time it was a nurse practitioner. To make matters worse they both gave me conflicting diagnoses.
billing department is ridiculous. even if you are making monthly payments they send you to collections unless you have a payment plan set up through them that has to automatically withdraw from your account each month. I tell everyone I know to avoid ssm and to go to bjc they are much easier to work with.
Rude staff rude nurses and I believe they are racist and it shows I will never go back to that hospital
I am not happy with the way my friend was treated at the ER. The staff was rude and just tried getting us up and out of there, instead of helping. I was not listened to, she was not listened to. The paperwork didn’t even show what I called about. Let’s just say mental illness isn’t believed to be a thing at this hospital. In no way shape or form was my friend okay to be released right away, and on top of having to leave, she wasn’t offered any help leaving. No one to help walk us out, or give us a wheelchair. Rude rude rude staff and nurse's. I never want to go there. Move me to another hospital or let me die. Use to be a good hospital. They don't care. Not going to bother going into depth. They don't deserve that much of my attention and time to explain.
Family Birthplace and ER had an amazing staff that treated us with amazing care!
