Was at St Francis for my pre-op yesterday. Nurses and staff , very friendly , professional, and made me feel at ease. I am very happy that they will be taking care of me .
My mother suffered a massive heart attack August 1st, today she was finally able to have the life saving bypass surgery. This hospital exemplifies the care and compassion beyond words. To Dr. Lundy the surgeon who saved my mother's life, I, my family cannot express our gratitude. Dr. Mezzafonte, and to the extroidanary nursing staff, from the beginning, the nurses in MICU, Katie Erin, this staff explains everything, we learned about cardiac output, the Chaplain Mary, every hospital could learn from this hospital. I wish we had a better hospital in the town of Kings Park ! We also need a decent supermarket !
I'm a patient at this moment on the 2nd floor in telemetry unit...and the Nursing staff and PCA's beyond Fantastic. ....my only down fall is the Noise at night by none unit staff at night and why they can't be a better way to deal with the Patients that scream all night...I feel for them...but others are trying to get well...
The staff in pre-op is fabulous. Warm, kind, and supportive. Sister Irene was so wonderful too. Dr. Atwa answered all pre-surgery questions and right after surgery came out to show me the pics of the progress of the surgery. Another bright light was Dr. Leung. He was funny, answered questions efficiently, and was very helpful. However, once out of this area, it's a nightmare. Our "nurse", Vanessa, is either in the hallway chatting or giving out attitude.
