Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room itself left a lot to be desired. The room smelled strongly of smoke, which seemed to have been covered up with heavy air fresheners or sprays rather than properly addressed. The toilet barely flushed, the shower floor was extremely slippery, and the shower door handle was broken. We actually had to put a towel down in the shower to make it feel safer. Room 113 A/C blower motor is shot! Condenser fan and compressor work ok but I believe they could hear that blower fan rattling in North Carolina. TV turned itself on at 3:30am, 4:03am, and 5am.
Hotel shows a nice appearance upon check in. Was not greeted as a member. They did not alert me to my room being above the kitchen. Was consumed by burning food and throat assault at 4am. Awoke in a coughing spell, had to leave in pj's. No other rooms available or they were dirty. I was billed and had to address the issue with a assistant GM. GM did not even take time to show compassion or even speak to me. I had to get a nebulizer treatment. Appearances can deceive. They were full due to a homecoming event.
