Bad consumer relations regarding competition fees
RecommendedAfter what seemed like a year where our competition dancers wouldn’t dance at all, Spotlight found creative and safe solutions for our girls to still have their moment. And they treated every studio and dancer with such care, kindness, and love. Best competition ever!!
This is the only company that has not corresponded well with studios and has not refunded any of the competition fees that were paid. it had been 8 weeks since our competition. was canceled due to Covid-19 and they have not clearly communicated regarding their intent with the fees we paid nor refunded any money. I want my girls, as dancers, to learn honesty, integrity, and clear communication. This company has shown none of that during this situation. Well ran, ran on time or ahead of schedule, super laid back competition, enthusiastic backstage and stage manager crew. Helpful staff. (we had a student misplace a wallet and they were able to help us find it!)
Not only was the competition ran efficiently, the backstage crew was enthusiastic and helpful. Parents, dancers and teachers love when a comp runs on time! The awards ceremony was not long and drawn out but still had a special touch that showed people cared. We were pleased with the range of dances in the overalls. Can’t wait to come back next season!
Where do I start? After witnessing a particular group "talking to" and hugging the judges... then a particular group had a private session with the choreographer prior to an "impromptu" dance off...We realized that Spotlight is not a legit nor fair competition. At least our team and other smaller studios had the chance to perform. There was lots of talent at this competition. It's just a shame that Spotlight doesn't follow rules. Lesson learned. Award: Cubic Zirconia!!!
Was a great competition in Coeur d’Alene. Awesome venue. Only recommendations would be more award sessions as we travelled four hours and the wait was too long to travel home. Also, during the dance offs, the host should not ask the audience to “cheer” for who they want to move forward. These are just kids and they are all so amazing for getting up and trying. Other than that... was one of the best we’ve attended!
We just attended spotlight for the first time and wow! The staff was kind and welcoming, the awards were made special and fair. Overall this will be on the top of our list to attend in the future! Thank you for an incredible weekend!!! - Dynamic Perception Dance (Chicago IL)
