HOLY COW – Not in a million years could someone have convinced me that PT could be FUN, insightful, and my favorite activity of the week! Not until I experienced it for myself that is! I thought physical therapy was a grueling, cumbersome, ugly process, where mean therapists do horribly painful things to get you going again. God, I dreaded it. But go I did. And I couldn't be more thrilled. When I first went I was impressed right away with the front desk staff. The trainers in the lab usually get all the kudos (because they r... read more
Get Back to Business! – I consider myself an "elite" athlete..at least I was 15 yrs ago! But at Sports Center I had the one on one time with a true PT Professional. Christine was knowledgeable and motivating and knew what limits I had. I wouldnt go anywhere else!
Don't Settle for the Hype & Sales Pitch – I'm a runner and was recovering from a hip stress fracture. At Sports Center, I felt like a commodity. The PT assigned to me showed me the exercises during my first session and then expected me to do the routine from a clip board during subsequent sessions. I received very little personalized attention & spent the majority of the hour on the zero-gravity treadmill. I finally decided to change PT offices and canceled all of my appointments. I never received a call or inquiry from Spor... read more
I love sportscenter. – If you haven't been to Sportscenter, you haven't had the chance to experience the benefits of physical therapy. At SC, you're not a patient under a healthcare system; you're a client with individual interests and goals. Personally, I struggled with ankle pain for most of a decade and had to end my swimming career prematurely to undergo four reconstructive ankle surgeries. Having experienced traditional physical therapies prior to SC, I was not therapy's 'biggest fan.' In fact, I was apprehensive about ... read more
well worth the wait-list to join!! – It may take you a while to be able to sign up for SportsCenter, and that's for a reason - there are always people who want to join! I'm 21, tore a disk in my back, and was struggling with plantar faciitis and achilles tendonosis all at the same time .. and the progress I made at SportsCenter in a single summer was simply amazing: I went from being on crutches to beginning to jog once again! You definitely need to come into it with the right attitude: if your injury is bad, it will take mo... read more
Great one on one attention, customized recovery plans – I'm a 35 yr old male, who had major reconstructive surgery on my shoulder socket. The socket had chipped off in my late teens. I went to many surgeons and physical therapists. All of them told me they couldn't fix my shoulder and I would just have to live with the chronic dislocation. Finally after dislocating my shoulder changing my shirt, I found a great surgeon in Austin, who grafted a bone to reform the socket and re-attached my tendons, ligaments and muscles to the... read more
For Intelligent PT – The Sports Center is the reason I live a normal and productive life today. My injuries included a broken left elbow, right tibia and fibula and right crushed heel. I was destined to walk on a cane at best. When I finally found the Sports Center (thanks to my caring PT sister) my existing treatment was getting me nowhere. Dr. Kelsey evaluated me and asked me to describe my treatment goals. I told him my main objective was to walk without an assisted device - I was using a walker at this time. At Christmas... read more
Great Physical Therapy, Major or Minor – I came into Sports Center fresh off of surgury to repair a completely torn rotator cuff, extremely painful stuff. Before my therapy a day was devoted to assembling the plan best suited for my expected level of eventual performance and my daily work schedule. The environment is one i would describe as very therapeutic, and most of the other patients you'll see will have schedules similar to yours, adding a definite level of encouragement you likely wont find in a bigger, less-personal ... read more
Best place to get better – I have been to 3 physical therapists before this one and I have gotten the most out of my time spent here. They tailor everything to each person's needs and really pay attention to what works for you. They ask you what goals you hope to reach in order to determine how to help you achieve them. They will even help if your goals are to be able to run a marathon again. The staff is really friendly and personable yet also very professional. They all seem to have a deep knowledge of physical therapy. I ... read more
