In Comp Eliminator at the Lucas Oil Division 3 race in Bowling Green, Brad Plourd may have won the battle but Scott Chamness won the war. Brad qualified Harry Schwatz's AA/AM # 1 at 6.285 (.755 under the index). Scott Chamness won the race from the 14th position at 6.693 (.577 under the index) in his B/D.
