I have suffered through 30 years of back pain , mostly afraid to chance each suggestion of spinal operations . I first had cervical fusion with titanium screws and straps , followed by a laminectomy of L 3,4,5 which worked partially for 10 years , still in pain . In 2022 I started collapsing with no warning and had a lumbar fusion of S1 to T12 with rods and screws , but had no pain relief .
