Food was good. 4 Higher band on the patio was awesome, but needed more tables outside. Had to wait 45 mins for a table on the patio.
We just ate at Spike and Rail in Selma! This is our second time eating here and both times the food was excellent!! Tonight we had the BBQ sampler, we split it with side salads and the calamari for appetizer. Needless to say we are bringing some leftovers home which is great because everything we ordered was excellent! At the end of our meal the chef came out and talked to us about our dinner. This was our third or fourth time at Spike n Rail. Not sure what happened to the quality, taste or presentation but they scored very low on all three areas! Our first few experiences were great and that is why we recommended it to friends and returned ourselves. Not this time , sorry to say! Food was mediocre at best service, not so attentive and the pricing for what you received and the overall quality of the food , was off the mark. Sad because I thought we had a jewel in Selma...not so!
The fish n chips were terrible and the 2nd plate they remade was worse, it was puddles of grease. When we showed the manager, he wasn't even apologetic, just made excuses.
Nice restaurant. The motif is somewhat European, and tributes to Hans Christian Andersen abound. There is a large fish pond with koi and several black swans swimming on its surface, located between the restaurant and the adjacent Holiday Inn Selma-Swancourt.
