September 11, 2021 and I visited his shop. Was impressed with the car and put down a $10,000 deposit. Unfortunately, there has been no proactive communication coming from Steve Lawing or anyone else at Specialty Auto-Sports. At the time of the deposit, it was 24 months plus or minus. I came back to Steve's site after many years just to see what he is doing. Steve built a very complex '34 Cabriolet (with every bell and whistle, including a supercharger) for me over 20 years ago. Yes, it took more time than I thought. Yes, the extras cost more than I thought. But, after all these years that car is still as perfect as when I picked it up. BELIEVE ALL THE BAD REVIEWS. To start one star is too generous for SAS/Steve, it should be negative. In 2017, I have visited Steve Lawing at his shop in Tennessee. The first time was to visit the shop and talk to Steve in person. With a HANDSHAKE he assured me my Speedster in two years. After signing the contract and $10K the nightmare began.
