I was expecting far worse from the reviews. I knew I was booking Hilton’s “value” brand, and it was much cheaper (points) than a nearby Hampton. The employees were very friendly to us, the rooms were new/fresh, coffee was good. All around I felt like we got our “bang for our buck.” Motion sensored thermostat was annoying, but room was comfortable overnight.
Booked a short two night stay for a weekend in Erie. First red flag was needed to pay for the room in advance, unless I downloaded the Hilton app. Second red flag was a $40 charge on my card to cover incidentals. I'm used to the practice of keeping a card on file for damages, but a fee up front was ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was that I was never given a working room key. Really enjoying this place, staff is friendly and very helpful, the rooms are honestly very nice, parking is good, it’s quiet, they have 24/7 available snacks and beverages at the reception counter for purchase, refrigerator in room and wall thermostat. …Hate not giving it 5 star, but the indoor pool water temperature makes it unusable 🥶. Im not being unreasonable, just came from several nights in a hotel in MI, the pool was fine. Beds are fine, they even have onsite laundry. I would stay again, very nice.
This was a bad experience and not up to Hilton standards. The quality was lacking. In general, the location is good. Reserving and getting the rooms (I had 3) was easy. The folks on the phone were nice and knowledgeable. The good experience ended there. When I arrived and checked in, the desk person acted as if she couldn't be bothered. She didn't explain that an additional $40 was charged in advance per room. I found this after I reviewed the charges when I got upstairs. Two of the 3 rooms were lacking essential items.
