I have had years of struggles with this company. My physicians office have reported that they can call Southwest 3 times and IF they reach 3 different people they get 3 different answers regarding coverage. I am finally leaving them.
I had to give 1 because it will not allow 0, which is what Southwest Service life ins co. is...a big ZERO! Do not waste your $ thinking you have insurance. You are on your own! What a joke of a company. Save your money and put it towards your medical bills or you will be like me, having paid in to this company for years and when i need help for surgery - they denied. Wow. Go elsewhere for health coverage. I bought this policy years ago specifically for an illness that would require a hospital stay. All these years knowing that they cover little to nothing for Dr visits. I had colitis in August and was admitted for five days. SWSL paid roughly 15% and upon calling about this was told..."just call the hospital and they can write it off." Wow!
Company has been around a long time- it serves a niche market of people who can't afford other coverage or don't qualify/ normally when people are "upset" is because THEY didn't understand the policy- IF it says it will pay this or that - that is exactly what it does no more - no less-- so make sure YOUR expectations match what the policy SAYS and they are perfect every time-- from a 34 year health agent-- ie not everyone eats steak that is why GOD made chicken

I needed health coverage for myself and my husband when I retired. I told the agent I didn't need coverage for regular doctor visits, but I need coverage for hospitalization or surgery.
