I've been going to SouthWest Dental for years now and the main reason for that is my hygentist, Sharon Johnson. She is such a good hygentist. She educates me about dental hygene plus I trust the advice she gives me, and she's really pleasant to top it all off. However, I have to be honest that I've considered leaving at times. The hygenist was very friendly and effecient.
I came in for a check up and cleaning. The dentist said everything looked great and the when the lady went to do the cleaning she stated that I needed a deep gum cleaning. I stated that I just wanted the cleaning. Your office refused to do the cleaning without the deep cleaning stating it would cause harm. The dentist never did speak to me about this. Yesterday's (June 3, 2014) experience with my dentist, Dr. Burns, his assistant, Roe, and my hygienist, Sharon, was good. What wasn't good was the scheduling mix-up. Three months earlier I was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on June 3. Last Friday I was given a telephone reminder of my 10:30 a.m. appointment. I called to clarify---not 10:30 but 11:00 a.m. No, I was told it was 10:30 and with some hygienist I had never seen. I explained that I was supposed to see both Dr. Burns and Sharon. I've been coming here for years. Good group, and affordable.
Sharon is an excellent but when I got to the check out, the young woman who waited on me, sorry I do not recall her name, was not very professional. As she waited on me, she continued to chew on a wad of gum. I would suggest that your public facing associates, act more professionally. Other than that, she was very pleasant and helpful, it was just that chomping on the gum that I noticed the most.
Lori did my cleaning. She is wonderful. Thorough and gentle.
