Took my 5 yr old in to be evaluated for an allergic reaction. Very nasty place, staff not friendly, received zero help with the problem; only told to follow up with PCP on Monday, and zero privacy. Even people laying in halls. I overheard all of one lady’s problem, so apparently they have no problems violating HIPPA. We ended up walking out without even receiving discharge paperwork.

My now 18 year old daughter had gone to an ER up north while out of town this morning. She has kidney stones and their facility told me she needs a follow up. Her brother's been there before, so, I called to see what they need to make her an appointment ASAP.. Guess what? As her /mother/, because she is 18, I CANNOT make her appointment? No wonder why we are a UVA Family. They are setting up to take her after speaking with me, and will set it up with ME. I will never call on SHU again after this.

My father was shipped from Farmville to Lynchburg. I honestly would have preferred him to stay in Farmville but hospital was full with no beds . They couldn’t tell me nothing about him. Acted like he wasn’t even in the facility and finally when I got mad and said I worked for Centra in Farmville, they tried to act like angels. Discharged my father and told him to sit outside. I was on my way but couldn’t help the traffic flow. I loved Lynchburg General on how they treated my mother in the past. Over all horrible experience. ... read more
