I HAVE A WASHER THAT I PURCHASED FROM LOWES THAT HAS A 4 YEAR WARRANTY. I CALLED LOWES TO FIX MY WASHER AND THEY REFERED ME TO STAR. SO I CALLED THEM THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY MORNING EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THE WASHER, AND I SCHEDULED A TIME AND DAY FOR THEM TO COME AND GET THE WASHER. I ASKED THE GUY MORE LESS HOW LONG IT WAS GOING TO BE TO FIX. HE TOLD ME 3 DAYS. 1 DAY TO DIAGNOSE AND ORDER PARTS, DAY 2 TO INSTALL THE PARTS, AND DAY 3 TO RUN THE WASHER ALL DAY TO MAKE SURE THE PROBLEM WOULD BE FIXED. WELL 2-3... read more

These people should not be in business!! STAR was hired by the manufacturer to order and install a back panel and backsplash for my stove which was missing at time of purchase. I was promised by the retailer that it would be ordered and installed by STAR. A week turned to a month. STAR finally called one mid-week day to tell me that they had the part and that they would call me Friday to schedule an appointment to come install it. Friday turned into 2-3 weeks later. Everyone we dealt with at this company was completely incompetent ? up to and including the owner, Bobby. We have an extended service policy through GE for our washer and dryer and South Texas Appliance Repair (STAR) is the company they assigned to repair our front load washer. The first technician that came out informed me that the shocks were broken and they would have to order new shocks from GE. I specifically asked him if I could continue using the washer or not, and he said that I could use it for ?light? loads. I did ... read more

Our home warranty service provided us with this company's phone number to call for service for our oven. Repair man came within two days and stated he would need to order the part, but warranty service would need to approve before he did. It's been over 4 weeks now and they have ordered two WRONG parts, we still have no oven to use and to top it off, someone at their office "closed" the service ticket so our warranty service paid them and sent us a Customer Service form to fill out for the completed service! A rat ate a hole in my new dishwasher and Frigidaire referred me to South Texas Appliance Repair. We set up an appointment and they never showed up. I called them and the owner said Frigidaire was not going to pay for the repair and Frigidaire was supposed to call me. I reminded him that when we originally talked I told him I wanted to have it repaired whether Frigidaire payed or not. He then told me someone would be out at 7:30 the next morning. They did not repair my range which was under 1 month old. Could not get a call back from anyone in this business. Spoke to the manager which I beleived he would help, but wrong, no help at all. I had to keep calling everyday. The girls at the office seemed as if they were tired of me calling and did not help either.

The service guy who came to my home was on cell phone the whole hour and a half. He didn’t fix the appliance correctly. Besides making excuses for the service man, the owner, Bobby, said the service guy would be out there the next day about 2p.m. to take a look and figure out what was wrong. Because of this, not only did I take the day off to have them fix it, but I received a call only to be told it was going to be another four days before it could be looked at.
