RecommendedHi I would recommend this hospital my mom was a patient there/ they took excellent care of her stomach wound after her surgery . This facility is very clean. The staff at least on G wing are lazy and unprofessional. alarms go off and they either walk by or at the desk sitting. There is no continuity of care at all. Everybody seems to believe it's someone else's job to do the simplest thing. Bring your family if you want any help, if you have no family go to Mercy Hospital.
Maybe you should look into patient care ! Experience this week is disgusting to say the least, when did you turn over your patient care to "Social Workers"?? Or should I say the Bean Counters of the Hospital - Elderly Patient who fell, injured, cannot walk, on Medicare - Your "Social Workers" force the patient to sign paperwork that they objected too and could not read ( because they didn't have their reading glasses ) and without a family member present - It is quite evident that South Nassau Community Hospital does not wan... read more
One very nasty nurse, the rest are awesome.
Was discharged last evening after a 4 day stay following stomach surgery. I can’t say enough good things about this hospital, the nursing staff, the patient care staff, the patient advocates, dieticians, custodians and especially my surgeon Dr. Daniel Haller and his team. I went in through the emergency room and was so fortunate Dr. Haller was on call! He did a through evaluation and took me right to surgery. He and his team came to check on me every day! I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. I went in with trouble breathing, tightness and pain in my chest and neck. All symptoms of a heart attack. From the second I walked in the door the intake nurse acted as if I was a bother to her. And it didn't stop there. The doctor I saw was extremely rude, hardly listened to what was wrong, and acted as if I was a bother to her as well. The xray tech was friendly enough but still rude. 48 hours in a hallway with my 86 year old mom. She was completely ignored no meds or food. I had to give her meds that I snuck in. And bought food from outside. She was in a room when she first got there why they moved her to a hallway and put someone else is beyond me! I would love to know the reason ? Can anyone respond to this neglect! Only when I lost my mind did she have her vitals checked and I was asked to go over meds. My mom has been in the ER for two days without her meds! We keep asking for it we get no answers! Thank god we have them for her! She fractured her hip we have to fight for pain meds! Don’t go there! Worst hospital!
