Hot chicken sandwich was pretty bad. Pimento cheese starter was fantastic. Service was good at the table but the hostess was a little rude. Might give it another try. Might not.
We were able to snag a table for dinner without a reservation. Lovely atmosphere seeming upscale while also laid back...perfect southern feel. Menu with New Orleans influences was extensive. I love a place that encourages a vegetable plate...okra and tomatoes, duck fat tots, and creamed corn were perfect! My husband's shrimp and grits were rich and delicious. Son had braised lamb which was tender, rich and perfect. Look forward to many trips back here.
This was the 2nd time we visited South Kitchen and it didn't disappoint again. The service was amazing and the food was great. Had the portobello mushroom sandwich and it was cooked to perfection. Also topped it off with their peach cobbler and man it was delicious
