Living in SCM is hands-down the best housing experience we’ve had in DC. The apartments are beautiful and well-maintained, neighborhood is lovely, and staff - specifically Monico, Heber, and Amy - go above and beyond to truly make it feel like home. We love living here and highly recommend!
For the price point in the area, the value is okay. Community is good, maintenance is responsive, lots of kids and dogs, people typically 30+ in age range, and clean. Negatives - Residents smoke which carries across units and in the halls. - Water/Sewage bills over $100 monthly, $15 mandatory trash fee - The management company, Aria Residential, is very bad with communication and at times incompetent. - Reduced gym area by 20-30% - Rats in outside common areas, little abatement measures. (It's DC)
Beautiful building and landscaping!
If you have the opportunity to live at South Cathedral Mansions, take it! I lived at SCM for 2 years and enjoyed every second of it. The units and facilities are clean and well built. The SCM community is warm and welcoming. Located in Woodley Park, you get a quieter side of the city while still remaining central. The entire SCM team is exceptional, from maintenance, leasing, to the concierge team. Special shoutout to Monico and Herber, they are superstars!
I have been living at South Cathedral Mansions for over 6 years and could not imagine a better building. The facilities are top tier and meticulously maintained - the cleaning staff is phenomenal. The amenities are wonderful and management goes out of their way to host various social gatherings and themed events to bring the community together.
