Sotto Mare is a Historic restaurant in North Beach, I had the pleasure of being hosted there by the owners Rich and Laura (and family) recently. It was by far the best Seafood plates I have had in SF. I had the cioppino, it was to die for. Excellent job Sotto Mare, I will return many time in the future. Not to mention the reception, social, and just pure fun of the establishment! If you get a chance, take it.

Love love the cioppino!! Great portion and filled with yumminess from the sea. The authentic Italian sauce makes this dish. If you like a hearty cioppino, great atmosphere and fun place to eat, go to Sotto Mare. You will not regret it. It may take a while to get in, but it is worth it. I usually go next door and have a drink while waiting. That's another story!! If you are willing to wait for the counter, do it!
