Excellent, Inexpensive Lunch Spot – I come here all the time for lunch since I work nearby. The portion sizes are good, and everything I've tried so far tastes great. Offerings usually consist of dishes you would normally get at a more upscale restaurant. Entrees are garnished with a purple orchid. Best of all, you can't beat the price! Crowded, but great – This place is great for lunch. Its a little crowded, but the line moves fast. The food was GREAT! Very tasty. The shaded outdoor area is perfect for a quick bite to eat.
Everybody's clucking about the rotisserie chicken, fresh pastas and huge salads at this fast, casual joint. – In Short Despite its faux chic-Southwestern decor, this roaster is a basic order-at-the-counter fast-food restaurant. A weekday lunch crowd comes for the juicy chicken tenderized on a rotisserie grill. But many also enjoy other items on the diverse menu like the veggie risotto and salmon linguini. Salads, such as the Grove salad, mixed with sweet-and-sour mango, grapefruit and orange slices, are also popular.
vicsmbz – I've tried this place several time so far. The pastas were not very good. The sphagetti w/meat sauce and sausage was too overpowering w/basil; almost as if it was from Prego. The other pasta dish I had had no flavor at all. The 1/2 chicken was dry as if it was previously cooked, then reheated. Now, the steak was excellent and the tilapia was just as good. So it depends on what you order there.
Fly to the Coop !!! – When I first heard the name of this place, I thought it was some sort of KFC upgrade. But don't let the name fool you, this is a great place with lots of choices on the menu. Everything from pasta to steaks to pizza and, suprise!, chicken. Their motto says it all - "INEXPENSIVE EXCELLENCE"! Great food at a great value! It's right next to the San Pedro Parking Garage so parking is no problem. I like to come here with a lot of friends and sit out in the patio. And don't leave without trying DESSERT!
Great place for a cheap, but tasty meal – I'm vegetarian and, despite the name, I've never had any problem finding something good on the menu for dinner. The food is very tasty and the service is great...especially for the price!
Cheep Cheep Cheap – My husband and I live within walking distance of Sonoma Chicken Coop, and we go at least once a week. The food is just as good as you'd get at other popular downtown restaurants, but at half the price. The outdoor patio is a wonderful atmosphere. The only catch is you have to order your food at the counter and pick it up when the number is called. But, the food, atmosphere, and value are more than worth it.
