About this business
In 1968, we were just a local BBQ joint in Gainesville, Florida. Today, we're still a local BBQ joint. We just happen to be in a few more locations. But we still do things the same way Floyd "Sonny" Tillman and his wife, Lucille, did back then. We still slow-smoke over oak for up to 12 hours at a time. We still serve generous portions. And we still believe people should be able to go out to eat and feel right at home.

First and last time I will ever go to a Sonny's and the biggest waste of money ever. Bad service and we were the only ones there Sunday around 5:00pm took the waitress for ever to get our drinks then they didn't have any pulled pork. To make a long story short cold food raw ribs pork in beans tasted like they came from a can. Made us sick really I had stomach pains all night. They need to close the doors and keep them closed. Decent ribs, good service. Great music. <3 I will gladly eat there again, though the portions are a little small for a BBQ place.
I like all the BBQ options! Pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, chicken and pork. Plus all the sauce choices too! Good serving sizes and I love the sides....my favorite the sweet potatoes and the fried pickles. Yummy
First time eating there but it was good food. Service and my waitress was really good. When I'm in the area I'll go back but ask to be seated in her section.
