Very Grateful to have stayed at the Sonesta Essential in Morgantown West Virginia. The VERY BEST FEATURE IS THE STAFF! I am so very sincerely grateful to LAURA, MEL, DANIELLE, DYLAN and CINDY! From Laura's wonderful greeting and making sure my accommodations were set, to Dylan setting up early breakfast and Cindy giving excellent housekeeping service. While the staff were kind and helpful, their efforts were overshadowed by the unacceptable condition of the rooms. The security was a major concern; the door didn’t require a key to enter, as it could be easily opened by slipping a card through the large gap and manipulating the latch assembly. I was shocked to find a used bar of soap in the shower during my rinse. The sheets and comforter appeared to have not been washed in a while, adding to the overall sense of uncleanliness. Very clean rooms and prompt service. Only complaint is that the water in the shower could not heat up enough to take a hot shower (was just a little above luke-warm).
Worst sleep I've ever had. Room was freezing and only has a thin top sheet. Ran heater on full heat made marginal difference by morning. I was so tired when I got here leaving tampa at 5am got here couldn't wait to sleep and I was shivering. Now I feel like crap and I have to keep driving today. Other than that not too bad but seriously get a ***** blanket or a heater that works.
The location was good but the TV in our room didn't work and the ice bucket in our room was full of slimy water. I could easily have overlooked these things but at 3 am on the night of our stay an argument broke out in a nearby room. After about 30 minutes of shouting the police arrived. They then proceeded to interview each person in the room one by one in the hallway so it continued to be loud.
