Great location and price. Walking distance to Reading Terminal Market (which I highly recommend for food and drink). Area was safe. Rooms were clean. It’s a great setup if you’re traveling with a group of people. Kitchen, a couple of rooms, pullout couch (though I recommend just sleeping on the couch if needed and not using the pullout bed as it’s very thing and you’re basically sleeping on hard springs). ⚠️ Avoid this property. I arrived Sonder Ottawa on 30 Sept to find it completely closed with no staff or notice. Sonder’s agent told me they had informed Agoda weeks earlier, but Agoda denied ever receiving notice. This left my elderly parents stranded late at night with no support. Either Sonder failed to notify, or someone’s not telling the truth. Totally unacceptable.
Unfortunately have to leave a review here to try and help others debating whether or not to stay here. The most important issue is that housekeeping WILL steal from you. We exhausted every single option to try and get into contact with the person(s) on staff who cleaned the room and no one was able to help us. It was absolutely appalling. The customer service is simply non-existent so I’m sure if you have ANY problem they would be zero help. HOUSE KEEPING STEALS FROM YOU, DO NOT STAY HERE. THEY WERE NO HELP IN TRYING TO GET OUR ITEMS BACK. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD.
We had the most amazing time that we will always looks for Sonder wherever we visit now! The desk was manned 8am-10pm every day with a security guy on the night shift so there was always someone you could speak to if you needed to (not that we did!). The rooms were immaculately clean, amazing powerful shower that only ran out of hot water once at midnight which I was surprised about since it’s a huge old building.
