Unsafe building. Vagrants and poor building upkeep I used Sonder a couple times before moving to Austin. I moved into the area and would have family stay in Sonder while visiting. Lately, the building has been extremely unsafe and no upkeep. Attaching some lovely photos of what to expect from the property.

The day before my arrival they emailed me to say they can’t honor my booking. I spent the first 3 hours of my vacation- on my birthday, dealing with customer service. I was eventually relocated to the East Austin Hotel. Worst part was I missed the Kill Tony sign up - my whole reason for coming

I got a cancellation notice the day before I was supposed to arrive. I understand overbooking happens, but after over an hour being passed between at least 5 Bonvoy agents I was told they could book me down the street for 3x the price at another Marriott hotel. I don’t understand how a conglomerate hotel chain like Marriott doesn’t have a policy to provide reasonably equivalent accommodation in a scenario like this. This property has no integrity. My friends and I booked this hotel a few months in advance of the F1 United States Grand Prix. Three weeks prior to this weekend, we received an email informing us our reservation had been cancelled. We did not receive a straight answer as to why when we reached out to inquire on the reason. According to Sonder/Marriott it’s all sorted out because we were refunded the total amount.
