My father-in-law was fortunate enough to be placed in Solvay House in his final days. He was under the hospice care of Essentia, which was amazing. Can't say enough about Essentia's hospice. He was going through the final stages of liver cancer, and at that point was having a lot of trouble with terminal restlessness. been 4 years since i found a place to write a review for this place. i won't mention my mother's name and maybe the administration has changed since then but if i could do it over again i would have sent my mom to St Lukes, not Solvay, she would have lived many more months, she got morphine toxicity from too much morphine over a long period from nurses and doctor of St Mary's Superior and i have no idea why they gave her morphine as she was in no pain. she had hallucinations and all that goes with it. A dear friend and neighbor was here in the spring of 2024. We visited several times (driving 6 hrs) and she was so happy to be in this beautiful setting, as was her husband. End of life is so difficult, but Solvay staff go above and beyond to bring whatever is needed.
My dad passed here. Wonderful place. Staff are wonderful.
My father spent his last days here in 2013, and this place was tremendous. Caring staff, maximum comfort for patients and family, special perks like fresh baked cookies.
