WAY overrated, food was mediocre and overpriced... – My wife and I went there to use a $60 gift card that we had. What an embarrassment, we ordered 6-7 different items and they were OK at best. The stuffed figs were cold and gross!! For the price they charge for their tapas you'd expect perfection. Oh, and we ended up having to fork over an additional $50 with only ordering 2 drinks. Absolutely terrible, we'll never go back.
WORST HAPPY HOUR EXPERIENCE – My co workers and I went to Solera because we have heard of their great roof top. We went there and had a fine time but when it came to the bill I have never had such a horrible experience. First, we ordered the Tapas for 2. The menu stated that it was $25 and our bill stated $29. When I asked our server about the discrepancy, she stated that it was an old menu and she did not change our bill. Then we asked if we could split up the bill between our 3 credit cards. She said it was no problem and ... read more
CRAZY!!!! – I am usually the fun person, who picks the great places to go in the family. My cousin was up from Florida, and I bragged about Solera and the Tapas, Sangria, etc. I went with my parents and her. CRAZY!! We went on Sunday night, and there were girls making out with eachother, grabbing eachother, etc. at 5:30 in the evening on the rooftop. The music was far too loud than what it is during the week after work. Food was good, service was excellent, but come on...I was embarrassed I recommended it!
Tuesday night band is great!!! – I've been dropping in at Solera for the late night happy hour recently (half price drafts and sangria, $2 off cocktails, $2-3 tapas) and always enjoy the bar and the great specials, but last Tuesday was the first night of a cool new band at Solera. They said their name was Tico Tico, and they played a lot of latin jazz and salsa and some African sounding music. The music was great, not too loud, but very energetic. I was told that the bass player was from Ivory Coast, and he sounded amazing. ... read more
Great food and nice atmosphere – So my husband and I went here for our anniversary and they seated us in a cozy two person booth. It started out quiet, but then a group of seven people came in and sat next us and although they were a little loud, our experience was still good. We tried 5 tapas plates and most of them were very good. My favorite was dish was the veal meatball and I loved the sangria (although it could've used a little more fruit). The ambience is very nice; it can be romantic if you sit in one of their cozy b... read more
Alhambra Room - Great ambience for small group party! – We just got back from Solera's and I promised Steve the manager I would write a great review on our first time there! After much researching online and reading reviews, I decided to make reservations at Solera's for my birthday dinner last night for my group of 10. I reserved the Alhambra Room and it just happened to be available, despite my procrastination in making reservations. When we arrived the hostesses were very welcoming and immediately took us to our room whic... read more
I love Solera – My first experience at Solera was a rooftop movie on a Sunday summer night. I consider it one of the best nights I've had in DT Minneapolis. Great service, fun idea. I've also had dinner at the restaurant twice. Like another reviewer said "Get the duck!". Great food, great service, and possibly the best wine I've ever had.
** NOTHING BEATS SOLERA.. Tast, style, class... WOW – My wife and I absolutely love Solera! We have been there numerous times and have never been disappointed... Infact we got married on the rooftop 2 1/2 years ago.. We tell everyone we know to go there! If you like wine, may we suggest the Sangria ! Delicious... buy it by the pitcher! The menus have changed a few times, but always something new and wonderful to try... This is and has been our favorite place to get THE BEST meal, hands down.
Rooftop Fun! – Solera was so much fun a few Saturdays ago.....the rooftop, not sure if it has a name or not but our group had a wonderful time. They have a DJ who is OK but give them credit for a great time much more relaxed then that Chambers Hotel, sorry no super models here. The service was great keep up the good work.
