My natural curly hair is Lovely Now! The Ouidad cut and style is absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you sooo much Ms. Tammy!!!! You educated me on how to use the Ouidad products and how to keep my hair hydrated!!! You are very knowledgeable professional sweet and kind to say the least!!! I made an appointment for removing existing hair extensions and a haircut. Appointment was made with receptionist and she assured me that they have a hair extensions specialist. When I arrived, I was told that the 'specialist from extensions' work with 'another glue'!!! There is no 'other glue' in hair extensions!! Incompetence or stupidity or both wasted a lot of my time. So I love the awesome and super sweet guy at the front, he is a doll! As for my 300$ color..ummm, I feel I could have achieved this look by spending 15$ on a box of hair color at CVS. Disappointing!
Marisa has been my stylist for more than 5 years. Her talent & skill with scissors and color is unsurpassed. And she can work magic with a blowdryer & a flat iron! She's seen me through short, long, curly, straight, red, brown and back to my natural black/brown again. I wouldn't trust anyone other than Marisa to cut/color/style my hair.
I go to Erika who's been my hairdresser for almost 3 years now. She is a great stylist - she always understands what I want and I'm always satisfied with my color and cut. She doesn't try to push her ideas - she listens to me, she suggests and the effect is always great. I also like the design of the salon a lot - it's really pretty and the location is great! Everyone is friendly. Phyto products that they carry are really great and aren't tested on animals which is very important to me.
I have been going to Vanessa for my extensions, cut and color for some time now. This is a very time consuming process and she is so patient and focused when working on my hair. It always turns out better than my expectations. She listens to what you want and makes certain before you leave you know how to care for your hair/extensions.... I have to also mention that the salon environment (entire staff) is amazing. They are all good to one another and helpful. Fun atmosphere! Highly recommend this salon.
I had been going to The Upper Hand Salon for the past 4 years and had been going to Trish. After the last haircut ($350 later) I had decided to search elsewhere. I had gotten a total chop-job - she had done chunky highlights in random places and cut my hair uneven. I even overheard her say to her assistant quietly to not do my highlights so close to my roots (I interpreted this as she wanted me to come back sometime soon to pay yet another $350). Best Salon in Houston – I went to SOK for the first time this weekend. I followed Sean over there from another salon. I referred my mom, and went with her to her appointment. I was very impressed! The salon is very open, clean, and hip. The staff is super friendly, everyone has a smile on their face, and they make you feel so welcome. You can even sit back and have a glass of wine while you wait for your appointment! If you go, ask for Sean, he is a superb stylist and colorist.
