Dr. K and his staff are the best. Friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Felt like I was an old friend or family member coming to visit. I love the technology, being able to scan my tooth and make my crown that same day sure beats that goopy old impression stuff that used gag us back in the day. Highly recommend SoCal Smiles for anybody who's a little afraid of the dentist like me!
It's very sad that people are posting such negative reviews. Maybe you need to take in consideration that most of you have HMO insurance, and you were not aware of your copay from the previous dentist. Some of you got away without paying a dime in the past. As you return for your biannual exam and cleaning, all of these mistakes are now being reviewed and some of you owe money for your past treatment. This is a quality and honest office. I am an anxious dental patient. The necessity had arisen for a root canal and I was trepidatious to say the least. I couldn't have been in a better place than in the hands of Dr. Karafin and his staff. My procedure took a long time, not because of the staff, anytime I showed the slightest uneasiness Dr. Karafin would allow me to gather myself and administer more nitrous or lydocane or just a cup of water.I shopped around for a good office, not just a great dentist. Best dental office my family has every been to. My younger daughter is (was) VERY afraid of dentists because she went to one who lied and said no shots then "tricked her. Dr. Karafin and his entire staff take the time to explain what is going to happen before they do anything. She has had a lot of dental needs over the years and although she still gets nervous she does not panic when we do to So Cal Smiles. Yesterday (2/22/18) I had a filling done and a new crown put on. The dentist, assistant and over all experience was fantastic! The whole procedure was hightech and current. The crown was a perfect fit based on the technology of scanning my tooth, to creating the actual crown in the their office. 5 stars all around.
I have been with this dental office for several years now and seen regularly twice a year. They have a very friendly staff and get me in at my appointment time without a long wait. I like their new hygienist, Ashley, who cleaned my teeth on my last visit and told me that she saw no problems and suggested ways for me to improve my hygiene habits. I am overjoyed I have found SoCal Smiles! After many terrible experiences I had lost hope when It came to finding a dentist. I found Dr. Karafin on yelp and now cannot stop smiling! Haven't been in to the dentist in a while, because of a bad experience a couple years ago with the previous practice. I went in today for a cleaning, hesitant and scared of the potential pain. From the time I walked in and Katrina cheerfully checked me in, my experience was GREAT. I have not been into a Dentist office in years because of a previous bad experience at a different office so I was a little nervous coming in. Dorie, the girl at the front desk, was more than welcoming the minute I walked in!
