I like going to Snug Harbor and staying in a waterfront villa overlooking the wild Chincoteague ponies. The hotel even offers nature tours around the islands and give the best sunset tours!
The Snug Harbor hotel sits right on the waterway that surrounds the island. The waterfront cottages are very cute and cozy with a world class view. My family rented kayaks and found a private secluded beach away from all the tourists, we had a private beach all to ourselves. This was one of the best family vacations we have ever had. My best tip is to go during May or September, the weather is still great and no crowds at all, you can have the island all to yourself.
Cool waterfront place. If you love wildlife you will love Snug Harbor Marina. I have stayed here for 15 years, that sounds like a long time but the staff tell me that the longest running customer has been staying for 40 years, that says it all!
This is an incredible place. I love Snug Harbor and Chincoteague island. It is a very special place! They have waterfront cottages with very nice views. The place overlooks the National park.
Snug Harbor a place to relax from the stress of the world – My family spent the whole week at Snug Harbor. We were celebrating our family reunion and we have to say that Snug Harbor and the island was just perfect choice for our gathering! We were able to book all the cottages (we booked it a year ahead) and have the whole place for ourselves. Nice Island hotel with the charm of nature – Snug Harbor on the great Island of Chincoteague is a great place to experiance the charm of nature. My nature group took a vacation here in 2011 and booked the whole hotel for a kayaking trip around Assateague and Chincoteague Islands. The nature was incredible with great bird watching and of course the wild Chincoteague ponies were always willing to pose for pictures. Chincteague Island- so nice...Snug Harbor-Simply the best... – I love that place! We still talk about it. My kids keep asking me when we are going back to Snug Harbor. They had so much fun fishing and crabbing of the dock ( just few steps from our cottage). We have recommended Snug Harbor to several friends. Unforgettably nice... – My husband and I were looking for a vacation that was a change from all-inclusive resorts and all of that fancy stuff and we found out about Snug Harbor. Some of our friends have been there before and were very content with their choice. So there we went... and we were so happy with our decision. The location of Snug Harbor couldn't be better.
