As soon as I walked in I knew this place was the real deal. The smell of charred oak and blackened walls let me know I walked into a serious Texas bbq joint. The food was amazing and the people was very friendly. i went i the middle of the afternoon so the wasnt very busy so they gave me a history lesson about the building, pits and we talked awhile about bbq and thier bbq technique. Great experience great people.
Bring your own fork! Poor service and rude employees, not worth the money. Don't waste your time coming here!!
We have taken many out of town guests to Smitty's but yesterday we went and the brisket was unseasoned and tough. Employees were rude. Not sure we will chance it again.

This place should be called Shitty's BBQ. I'm a big fan of Lockhart BBQ but this is my first and last trip here. Kreuz bbq or Chisholm trail bbq is WAY BETTER!!! This place has ZERO customer service, staff is rude as f$ck. The brisket was dry and the sausage was dry too. Not to mention the large amount of stupid rules: no credit cards (cash only), they will not sell you their larger sides if you're eating there, no forks or napkins.
