We tried Smitty's on a recommendation from a Lockhart local we met Sunday morning - we were not disappointed! Like the other Lockhart smoke houses I've tried this was top shelf! Never seen a town that has it so good in the barbecue department! We're planning to come again soon - maybe we'll stay for a spell, like a week or two!

Stopped by on vacation in May. I consider myself a pork rib expert and Smitty's have the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating.

Weve Been Coming Here For Years! No Plates Or Utensils Love It !
Came to Texas for a week to sample true Texas BBQ all around central Texas. I literally ate brisket at least once to 4 times a day the entire week, and hands down, Smitty's had the best everything right down to the fresh squeezed lemonade! Can't rave enough about this place! If you have a chance to go there don't let anything stop you! On a scale of 1 to 5 we give it an 11!
Superb. Better than Kreuz's for sure. Had pork ribs, fatty brisket, and jalapeno sausage. All were A-1. Heavy smoke and carmelization. The potato salad is apparently not made on site, but it is awesome. I will be back.
