They also sell plain and flavoured milk that's probably the freshest you have ever tasted. The cafe onsite serves a range of tasty ice creams, sandwiches, snacks and other dairy products. We love visiting to see the animals! My daughter enjoys all the fun things to play on and things to see. Baby goat season is so much fun too.
Excellent milk, the glass containers are great! Thank you for the true pledge to quality.
Business response:
Hi Sheena! Thank you for your review and support of our small local farm! ツ
Visiting Smiling Hill Farm had become a tradition for us following the Maine State Feis. Great ice cream and friendly staff. Teen kids still enjoy visiting the farm animals. Great spot to decompress before the long drive back to Cape Cod.
Business response:
Thanks for visiting Sue! We always say that the Barnyard is for kids of all ages, from 9 mo to 90+! We are honored to be a part of your Maine memories, and look forward to your next visit! Safe travels! ツ
I grew up going 1 or 2 times a year i am so happy i can take my kids and step-grandkids there too hopefully going this month
Business response:
Thanks for sharing your memories Melissa. We look forward to your next visit! ツ
I took my son there is past weekend. We enjoyed how kid friendly it was, and the equipment for kids to play on. I didn't enjoy that there were things advertised such as tractor rides and free barn tours that didn't happen. When we asked an employee when the tractor rides were, we were quite rudely told "that's just for the birthday party". But yet we later saw a calendar that specified they happened at three different times daily. We went in to the barn where there were suppose to be tours, and saw a father and daughter havi... read more
Business response:
Hi Laura! Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear that we have disappointed you on your recent visit to the Farm. We offered Dairy Barn Tours every half hour, and apologize that you were not acknowledged or made aware of this. We posted our July calendar this weekend, in advance of the three day holiday weekend ahead, which does indicate that tractor rides will be available at three different times. Again, we are so sorry that you and your son did not leave us with a smile, and hope that you will allow us to mak... read more
I think it's a great place to take the little kids- see the animals, eat lunch and get ice cream. It's a beautiful spot. Knocked review down a star because, on the many occasions I've been with my kids over the years, I've encountered some rude/unprofessional teenage workers and I think the price of admission to the barnyard is a bit steep for what it is.
Business response:
Thanks for visiting and sharing your comments. We strive to find friendly and efficient staff workers who leave our guests with a smile, and apologize if that was not the service you received. Our pricing is based on the costs of employees, feed, animals, taxes, and insurance, and is set accordingly each year. This year we added degus, doves and deer as well as the pens to house them. We continue to make improvements to enhance our guest experience. We appreciate your support and hope that you will visit us again. ツ
I brought my 2.5 year old daughter today(our 3rd trip this year) and every employee we came in contact with was super friendly. All of the animals were clean as well as the whole barnyard area. We got hot dogs for lunch and we got them quickly even though they were very busy and we got ice cream and the lady was super patient as my daughter tried 3 different kinds before making a choice and she goofed around with her and made her laugh! Thank you smiling hill for helping us make such great memories! I have been coming since ... read more

We loved our visits SO much! We had milk, butter and cream cheese and they were all absolutely divine. We loved the gift shop and seeing the cows too! We will be back asap!

That video of the calf with his/her head chained to floor is heartbreaking, how dare you inflict such fear on a baby, .
