Great View, Disappointing Experience – Shortly after my boyfriend moved to Seattle from San Francisco, he surprised me with a celebratory date to the Space Needle for dessert and drinks. Completely Wonderful! – If you don't already know, the SkyCity restaurant at the Space Needle was newly remodeled and redone! There is a new chef in town (actually a Master Chef - of which there are only 61 worldwide!). The new decor was absolutely breathtaking! Forget all the reviews you've heard, because one week ago (as of Feb 20th) all things were made new : ) Our service was flawless ... we never had to ask for more of anything, because every time we turned around it was there. Great view, food not worth the price – Up front this place is not a place for everyday dinning. The dress code and high prices make it a place that you may go once a year for a special day. Stepping into the restaurant you are taken by the view. During the dinning experience you have to keep looking outside as you see the whole city. Great View and Good Food – If it weren't for a gift certificate, I don't think we would have eaten here due to the price (and we already experienced a dinner in an Atlantan rotating restaurant). The ambiance is great for business or romance. The service was absolutely splendid (our waiter was Ryan). Even the person refilling our water and bread was very cordial. A great view with a great meal. – It is stupid not to go up and see the needle's view without eaing at the SkyCity. It is a very classy atmosphere. I think that you have to pay at least $25 a person, but that also takes care of your $15 ticket to go up and just see the view as well. I went with my boyfriend and we ended up slitting an appitizer, an entree and a desert, it was all really good. A very romantic setting, great date atmosphere!
Great view and good food – If you're going to pay to go up in the needle you migh as well just eat at SkyCity. The views are great and I really like the food. I guess the only bad things are parking and prices. You can find a spot easy enough if the Sonics are not playing and the prices really are not that bad if you consider that you didn't have to buy a ticket. Great place to bring visitors from out of town.
View and for tourist, not food – To be fair, the view is nice and its great to bring out of town friends to so they can say they ate at the Space Needle. Other than that the food is horrible, the service bad and decor is outdated.
Pay for the view! – We dined there on a Thursday night around 8:45pm, it was still very crowded with a reservation. I was disappointed when saw the announcement of "partial closing" sigh of the observation deck due to a private party. The dinner was ok, the seafood is done fine, but not perfect. Order the sunday, the resaurant stopped rotating, no apology – I took my parents here who were in town from Michigan a week ago. We sat down around sunset on a clear night. This was great except the restaurant stopped rotating and the sun was at a spot where it was in my eyes for about 30 minutes. I couldnt believe the servers did not give an explanation or offer any apology or discount. People were sitting at the table next to us for about 10 minutes and ordered drinks and then complained.
