Obtaining medical records is horrible. I was told I had to come to the office to sign the release and show ID. I did that. The receptionist cannot help you. They don't even know where the medical records are located. All they can tell you is "it is provided by a third party." I asked to be contacted as I would provide payment immediately. No response and no courtesy call. Needles to say, if my surgery went well, I would not need a second opinion.
Dr. Simon is definitely an amazing human being. That said, if you need surgery for ANY reason on your foot or ankle, go to an Orthopedic surgeon! Not just any one though, DO your research! Find two or three if you can afford to wait and make an informed decision. Having surgery is a big deal, and it can be life changing one way or the other. Podiatrists are for managing diabetic feet and treating toe nail fungus ;-)
I'm a 71 year old female who had bunion surgery performed by Dr. Simon, which consisted of having a steel plate put in the foot. I Never had any pain, including the night after the surgery. Never. Also, I have an autoimmune problem which I was told could complicate recovery. It didn't. My foot healed without any problems so i would definitely recommend Dr. Simon.
Dr. William Simon is an Excellent Podiatrist! I have been his patient for several years. I had two hammertoe surgeries with him and he did an outstanding job! Prior to those surgeries he Never would be persistent about me having surgery. He would say "whenever you're ready, I'm available." Dr. Simon is an outstanding podiatrist. He spends time explaining options and truly cares about your health. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend him.
