disorganized, careless and incompetent I just rescued a bunch of pet rats and took them to Simmons when sick. The veteranarion was seeing another customer when seeing my rats at the same time and was not giving his customers undevided attention. He encouraged me to bring as many rats who were sick as I thoughtneeded the care, yet he did not give them the propper care. For example, he failed to diagnose some of my rats who obviously had symptoms of resperatory infection with that.He would either give the sick rats the wrong m... read more

Receptionist Hi! I had recently adopted a cat who passed away a few weeks ago. His name was Buddy, and my Mom and I miss him. Now, I have another kitty. In both cases, I cannot say enough good things about Simmons Animal Hospital. I have family and friends who also use their services with great pleasure. I am new to having a pet - had lots of them when I was much younger - and it is a good thing! I find the staff @ Simmons Animal Hospital friendly, caring and very accommodating. The prices are right too ... and they made me ... read more

Dirty and inexperienced This place is very dirty and outdated. Dr. Anmuth gave my bunny dog proboitics instead of Bene-bac (for rabbits). By the time I got him to another vet it was too late, the damage had been done and the rabbit died a week later. You should take exotics to U of P Vet Hospital.

Genuinely concerned The vets here are genuinely concerned about your pets' care. They do go by appointments but they're not hard to get on the same day.We can afford their prices when compared to others in Philly and they do take a special credit card for the animals, we applied right there and got credit for full payment.

A better rattie vet than my previous Dr. Anmuth is very nice, and he was kind to my Rats. I've been there a few times with my own rats and my mothers. He removed a tumor, and did a nueter for one of my rat boys. I was pleased with my experience and my ratties got better. Many vets I've been to have been rude and disgusted by my choice of pets. But not Simmons Animal hospital

Outdated This Vet should go back to school, and learn a few things. They are affordable but lacking knowledge. It's ok for the basics but if their is something seriously wrong with your pet, go somewhere else!

Awful, frustrating experience We took our dog here shortly before he passed away. After repeated visits, the docs continued to tell us that our pooch had lyme disease, although he was not responding to the lyme disease meds, and they actually made him sick. He was losing bladder and bowel control, and his glands were also swollen to the size of tennis balls. We spent about $1000 here before we took our dog to Penn for a second opinion. The vets at Penn were awesome, and they couldn't believe that Simmons misdiagnosed him. He... read more

Professional, affordable, and quality service by a top-notch Veterinarian Dr. Anmuth was very knowledgeable and polite. He treated my dog Scabbers yesterday and I was very pleased with his work. Maybe the former reviewer was having a bad day, but I did not find Dr. Anmuth to be anything but pleasant and he was able to diagnose my dog immediately. I don't think they would let someone who calls everything a food allergy graduate from Penn Veterinary School. Overall review: see Dr. Anmuth. You won't be let down.

Do NOT use this vet. He may be cheap - but that's the kind of care you're going to get. Everything to this Dr. is a food allergy. The hospital is small and dirty, and the surgery area is disgusting. I had the opportunity to see an ear cropping done there by another vet, and it was the most horrible thing I'd ever seen, there was blood everywhere and the dog woke in a TON of pain. I have seen this procedure done elsewhere, it does not have to be that horrible if you know what you're doing.
