This place has very poor management. They will raise your rent every time you resign your lease even if you are a perfect tenant. If your appliances break they replace them with another one that is in just as poor condition. They will take your deposit and try to charge you for "deep cleaning" and repair to damage that was there when you moved in. Rent is over priced for what they offer. Not a good place for kids! Black mold in bathroom told them and they just painted over it! Windows are junk so heat bill was high!!! The shirt time I lived there there was a drug bust and an someone had an overdose in there car! All the smells travel threw the complex, so it always smells like weed and cigarette smoke!! Landlord told is we could have cats when we went to put them on lease they did not have qualifications, so they wanted 2,400$ for deposit not counting the deposit we already had paid. While these are older apartments, they are very well kept and the yards are kept like a park. I've lived here for 3 1/2 years and can't say enough good about the place and the people in the office. Check it out!
I just moved out of Silver Lake on August 31 after living there for 2 years. I only moved out because I am moving to South Dakota. I really liked my apartment and met some really good friends while living there. My apartment was in great condition when I moved in and I have already gotten my security deposit back in full. The folks who work for Regency were always great. If you need a place in Portage...Silver Lake is the place to be!
THIS PLACE IN MAGNIFICENT!!! I've lived in 4 other apartments and this one is by far the best. Great condition, great garage, great grounds and great people!!!
Management asked me to write a review of my experience here at Silver Lake...it's been great! I've lived here for 5 years (2 in one apartment, 3 in another) and have been very pleased with the response of management whenever I needed something. Over time I've seen a couple of lousy people come and go but for the most part the neighbors have been very good. I really like the huge lawns and trees and my apartment is the best I've ever had. I highly recommend taking a look here before you rent elsewhere.
Never rent from this place new lease is crap and you need a lawyer to look over it because it is 12 pages and full of technical stuff. One lawyer told my neighbor not to sign and look for a new place. They also take your whole security deposit no matter what and are a pain to deal with to fight the charges. DO NOT RENT THERE!!!
RUDE – I CALLED TO TALK TO THE OWNER "JOHN" TO ASK HIM A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS APARTMENTS AS SOON AS I STARTED TALKING HE HUNG UP ON ME. WHEN I CALLED BACK HE PUT THE ANSWERING MACHINE ON. THIS IS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WOULD NEVER RENT FROM SOMEONE WITH SUCH POOR SOCIAL SKILLS.
