However with the demise of the Great Gorge Railway in 1938, the construction of a superhighway to Toronto, and excessive pollution strangling the river, the waterfront declined. The only activity was the piling of sand dredged from the river bottom. Beginning in 1978 the waterfront had a rebirth. Hey what happened to the haystack. It must have shrunk in size!! The price didn't though that increased. Was very disappointed!!
I'm visiting from Georgia and we wanted to try something new ! I couldn't have asked for a better sandwich ! I tried the Haystack ! Steak was juicy and tender ! Would recommend this if your in the area !
The Silo Restaurant is perched above the boat docks in Lewiston. It offers excellent food from a varied menu, good cold beer (many brands), and a terrific view of the lower Niagara River.
Small orders for the price. Rings and fries were good. Atmosphere was great.
Had a haystack for the first time in years. So disappointed no crunchy hashbrown . A greasy mess to eat. Not what I remembered at all :(
My first visit was a huge disappointment on my wallet. The food was good. BUT- The cashiers need to let customers know what to expect with their meals though. 4 of us ordered the chicken finger basket & also side orders of French fries. We ended up with 8 orders of fries since the "basket" also came with fries. The extra fries ended up in the garbage can. $73. for 4 people eating a chicken finger dinner ☹️
